Christmas Lunch 7th December:
Christmas lunch was held at the Crown Hotel in Nantwich, a beautiful black and white Grade II listed building that is more than 400 years old. Rebuilt in 1585 after a fire, the building was a coaching house on the Chester to London service. It is certainly quirky inside with a rather crooked staircase and many original features present such as wooden beams and panels showing the wattle and daub walls.
We were welcomed as always by the friendly staff and enjoyed a wonderful three course meal.
A great chance for the group to meet and chat before Christmas and to also welcome new friends.
Marion Moulton said 'I couldn't have wished for a better way to end our fourth year. There were twenty one of us, the food was excellent and the hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The Crown is a wonderful building - very historic, so very appropriate for a history group's Christmas meal.'
Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year to all.
